HELP! My dog ripped her paw skin?

I took my dog to the local park and didn't know that if she chased balls on concrete floor she would rip her paw skin and so it happened. I noticed that she was walking funny, when she layed down after we got home I was touching her paws and noticed that one of her paws in the front right skin came off . And then i found another paw (the main big paw) on the back right with loose paw skin.

So far I applied neosporin on it, bandaged it with dry sterilized guaze, and then band aided with fabric tape.

Then put a clean sock around her front right foot and back left foot. She is sleeping in her bed right now and does not look like she is in discomfort.

Is what I have done so far okay for her? Should i take her to the vet? What should I watch for? Can she still walk on it right now ? HOw long will it take before she will have new paw skin growing back?
HELP! My dog ripped her paw skin?
good job on doggy first aid, it sounds like you did the right thing to help her stay comfortable and prevent infection. Dogs are incredibly resiliant but I would suggest taking her to the vet anyway just to be on the safe side. The vet will know more about treating her and can determine if its more serious or just a minor boo boo. Look for signs of pain and infection such as pus, ooozing and excessive bleeding. Keep her paws clean. Keep her hydrated. she should probably just rest over the next few days.
HELP! My dog ripped her paw skin?
Take her to the Vet now. Worry about the cost later. Get on on line pay day loan if you have to. Good luck to your baby.
Reply:I recommend you see the vet in order for him/her to give you a full explanation of what to do and when it will heal and everything else so you won't stay unsure and not be able to take care of the dog fully. Make sure though that the gauze is not tight around the foot in order to allow circulation, otherwise the leg can grow big and clot. It's a dangerous thing that can happen so make sure it's not tight or loose. Don't let your dog a lot walk for a day or two to allow the skin to go back into position otherwise if your dog walks around the skin will move around and might even come off again.

Keep the cusioning in place to ease any discomfort that might be experienced when the dog walks. But do see a vet.
Reply:I do not know where you live but if you have a walmart near by then you could buy this salve

Bag Balm in a green can looks like vasoline peferct for the injury your dog has sustained i use it on horses, dogs, cat, and even myself if the cut is real bad. clean it put the bag balm on it and wrap in a sock you want it to breath but not get dirty. it should start to heal in a few days and depending on how deep will depend on how long it takes. your dog can walk on it but i would suggest only on carpet and grass not stones or concret and you can buy the bag balm at a feed store to ... make sure there is nothing in the foot first like glass and such for that will cause and invection ......
Reply:this happened to mu dogs front right paw when i was running her. it took a big chunk off and it was nasty looking. i didn't take her to the vet but it started healing right away and didn't give her any trouble. i think this happens because there paws are dried and cracked, but if it doesn't get better or if it seems like its bothering her take it to the vet, but i dont think you'll have any probs
Reply:Please take her to the vet. My dog had ripped off his paw and had stitches. The paws don't heel very fast but they do. My dog was walking with bandaged for about 4 week before the vet took it of. The paw heeled very nice. They just take a little longer to heal but they do. Take her to the vet PLEASE

Air Refresher Skin Irritation?

I have recently used an aerosol air refresher and now I have red hives that are very warm on my arms and legs. I have read the caution statement on the bottle and there is no mention of irritation to the skin only to the eyes and harmful or fatal if inhaled. Needless to say I will not use it any more and I am contracting the manufacture and ripping them a new but hole. I have called the number collect like the recording requested if do and the number will not accepted the collect call. All I want to do is ask them what is should do to ease or reverse the effects of this skin irritation it is very uncomfortable. I feel is should not have to spend my money on a long distance call when they ask for you to call collect. Have any of you had a reaction to an air refresher if so what did you do to ease the discomfort of the hives?
Air Refresher Skin Irritation?
I don't think you should use air freshners because it ruins your nose. And all it does is make you can't smell anything.
Air Refresher Skin Irritation?
That sucks. I would first start with the skin. When you have a rash it is best to cool it down with an ice pack or cold water. When it is cold your are numbing the nerves that trigger the itchyness and the burn and discomfort. I would then next call a pharmasist and explain to them what has happened and could they recomend an over the counter drug to use to help treat the condition. If the skin irritant doesn't start getting better in a week I would then go see my doctor. Now the company that made the blasted stuff that gave you the reaction. You said the container listed a phone number but it would be long distance. I would google the phone number and see what it comes back listed as, just to make sure it is a legit number. I would also google the product name and see what happens. Hopefully you can get some helpful contact info. If nothing comes up helpful I would then contact my local Better Buisness Bearu and see if they couldn't locate the info and also file a complaint about the contact info not being made known to the public for a situation like this. Your next step should be taking the iteam public, not hugly, but at leaste for your community. Write a letter to the editor type of thing for your local paper. This should help prevent any more sales of the product and hopefully show the company that in order to buy a product there should be a way for us consumers to give the company a chance to make situations right again, if not, well sorry company your S.O.L. and don't deserve any future buisness from me or my community. Hope that helps ya out some. Good luck! Hope it gets to feeling way lots better very soon!

Questions about skin care.. Help Please..?

Are these products okay for me?

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion for Sensitive Skin

My face is oily but not too much, and having occasional pimples, but starting to have blackheads.. I'm a 15 year old guy, don't you think that these products are strong or just fine for my age?

About the cleanse, tone, and moisturize.. Do I need to do it morning and at night? And if yes, can I skip some steps, for example, I'll do CTM for morning, and for night I'll just do CT? Or anything..I'm new to these things, and I hope you could help me.. I have chosen Neutrogena because I heard that It's a good product, and is just mild..

If you'll suggest any other cleanser, toner, or moisturizer, please just suggest Neutrogena products, because I've seen people who have used Neutrogena products ended up with a smooth and clear face.. ^_^

Hmm, thank you for those who'll be helping me!..
Questions about skin care.. Help Please..?
What you've picked out sounds good to me =)

Do all three steps, morning and night.

Another thing you may want to try if you're getting a few pimples is some kind of acne treatment from Neutrogena, also. Use it at night after you cleanse and tone, instead of the moisturizer. Good luck =)
Questions about skin care.. Help Please..?
Hey man, the only way to find out if these products are to strong for you is by trying them. I've found that Neutrogena Acne wash can be a bit strong. If you use it be careful. If it burns or feels uncomfortable at all toss it. If you have oily skin you don't need to moisturize as often but if you do make sure it's a oil-free moisturizer.

Reply:I wash my face in the morning with soap and water. And use a prescription called duac cream. It works great.

You may want to consider using a shower body wash also.

Just make sure your skin does not get to dry. This can actually make you acne worse.
Reply:Not familiar with these exact products, but you need to be using a gentle, foaming, rinse-off cleanser that is soap free and pH balanced or pH neutral - this avoids upsetting the natural balance of your skin, which can create more problems than you had to begin with. I would avoid anti-bacterial face washes as these can be too harsh.

Then I would just pat my skin dry and apply a simple but good quality oil-free moisturiser. An oil-free moisturiser shouldn't clog your pores, and can be re-applied throughout the day (wash your hands first) if skin gets dry.

I would absolutely avoid using a toner as these are completely unnecessary if you are using a soap free, rinse-off cleanser.

If you get spots, ask your pharmacist for Panoxyl 2.5 gel, which is an effective but mild spot-fighting gel. Wash your face, pat dry, then apply a very thin layer of the gel all over the area that the spots appear (not just a blob on the spot). Wait 15 minutes until the gel dries, then apply oil-free moisturiser on top if necessary. Only use the gel once a day before bed, then wash off in the morning. Your spots should clear up in a few days.

This regime was recommended to me by a doctor and has not failed since. All the fancy stuff just confuses your skin. The only other thing I would recommend as an addition to your routine would be a gentle, rinse-off facial scrub used twice a week after cleansing, before applying moisturiser. This will get rid of dead cells, unblock pores and so make your skin clearer and brighter.

Products I like are:

Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel, or Cetaphil, or Sebamed

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

Panoxyl 2.5% Gel

Simple Smoothing Cleansing Scrub

Reply:You should try clean and clear benzol peroxide it well dry up all of your zit but only put it where you have ance or else it wont have anything to dry up and well make your skin dry. hope i've been a help please pick me for bet anwser.

Toe/Finger Skin Issue?

Once in a while the skin on my toes start to turn dark and the skin gets thick sometimes it gets really annoying so i peel it off and theres already a new layer forming. Its weird and I don't know whats wrong

If you have something like this PLEASE tell me what this is and how I can get it treated or what i can get to get it treated
Toe/Finger Skin Issue?
The skin in your toes probably get thick and dark because you peel them off. I have the same problem now and what I first do is to stop peeling it off or even touch it to stop myself from doing anything that will worsen the case since it's really annoying. Go to a spa and have your feet treated. They can provide you sessions to lighten the area and stop it from thickening. You may also buy do-it-yourself foot spa and pamper your feet once in a while. Good Luck! LOL..
Toe/Finger Skin Issue?
See a dermatologist.
Reply:it could be an insulin issue. then your body can not break down as much sugar as you consume in a day, some areas of your body may turn a darker color. if you've noticed this on your elbows and armpits as well as your knees. then i suggest you get your levels checked by a doctor. once you've gotten your hormones and sugar leveled out, it may take about 6 months for the discoloration to dissappear. at least that's what my doctor told me. my problem has faded, but not gone away completly.

skin problems

Hedgie has skin problems... Need someone with experience to give me some advice......?

I have a "rescued" hedgehog... I've had him since he was a baby, and he is not my first. I had a male, and a pregnant female (who had 5 healthy babies) about 10 years ago, and NEVER had a problem with any of them... including the babies!

Now I have a full grown male, he was 'rescued' from a flea market when he was a baby, and I have had alot of trouble with skin problems with him. His quills keep falling out, and it looks as if his 'scalp' (for lack of a better word....) is very flakey and dry. There is only one vet in town that I know of that deals with exotics, and it is just about impossible for me to get there during their business hours with my work schedule. I have talked to several 'hedgie pros', and have tried all of their advice--such as changing diet, different litter, and oatmeal bath..... It just seems that this little guy is destined to have skin irritation! If anyone has any "new" ideas for me to try, please let me know!
Hedgie has skin problems... Need someone with experience to give me some advice......?
This happened to my hedgie all the time...

The infection is the quills falling out. The dry skin is from the mites.

You can use a product called "revolution" on hedgies. It treats mites and fleas in cats. HOWEVER you need to be very very careful an overdose can be fatal. You need to have an exotics vet measure out and dilute the medication. A regular schedule of this treatment will help.

In the mean time. Clean the cage, and wash it. Change the bedding to a Grey shredded paper looking bedding. I get it at Pet smart it comes in other colors too. it is not wood it is paper. Also if you let him outside stop until the mites are under control. The mites can come from grass too.

As far as food change I would need to know what is in his diet already. do you have anything in his diet, like... baby food, veggies other things that can provide him with oils that may help his skin?

I hope this helps.

SKIN GRAFT OR IT WILL DIE!
Reply:ring worm is common in hedgehogs. Get to a vet when you can, make sure you wash your hands well after handling him. Good luck.
Reply:It could have mites or fungus, sometimes common problems. Here's a good link:

http://www.hedgehogcentral.com/disorders...
Reply:he very well may have mites. see if you can get him treated for them.
Reply:I worked for a wildlife rehab place for several years, and there is a good possibility that he has mange, the symptoms fit so you would need to purchase a mange shampoo or bath for him and follow the instructions.

Where do you live?

You could email the charity i worked for and they would be able to help you the website is www.wildlifeaid.org.uk and if you go to the contact section, there is an email thing set up.

Breakthrough tips that will give your skin big improvments?

Many teens suffer from acne. They struggle with finding the right solution to get rid of it. Did you ever think about these things that your doing might be the biggest influence of your skin troubles.

When you clease your skin you use your fingers to apply the cleanser. Even if you wash your hands beforeso there is still left over oil in your fingers that you push or massage into your face. (Use a new toothbruth to scrub gently or maybe even cotton pads).

When you think your acne is getting worse you freak out and use more harsh products. The truth is they clean your natural skin oils and then your skin goes into overdrive with trying to replace the natural oils. Use a cleanser that is normal and contains no more then 2 % salysic acid nor 5% benzoyl peroxide. Eat healthy food such as grapfruit witch help you cleanse your inner system this way the junk doesn't escape through your face. Keep a positive outlook on life and communicate with ur body. Visulization of aclear face can help!
Breakthrough tips that will give your skin big improvments?
thanx buddy but i already do that. btw, toothbrush is a bit too rough, there's face brush from Avon, its very gentle and designed for the face.

and gals using ur fingers to dot ur foundation on ur face is also bad. use triangular sponges, a new one every day and then discard it. if u cant afford this, then use once and wash thoroughly using ur own facial wash and dry it.

Dark, rough skin under arm?

I recently switched deodorants, and developed this dark, really rough skin underneath my arms. I have since stopped using the new deodorant and went back to the old one I was using, but the dark skin hasn't gone away. It doesn't hurt but occasionally itches and it just plain feels weird to be there. Can anyone help?
Dark, rough skin under arm?
If it has a velvety texture, it's probably "acanthosis nigricans", which is common in those who are very obese or have type 2 diabetes mellitus. Rarely it can occur in those with cancer.
Dark, rough skin under arm?
i had that!! I actually put gold bond lotion on it because it said it was for really dry skin...wash the area a lot, and it goes away within a few days :]
Reply:stop using deodorant for a while until you heal then try a different one or contact your MD for rash
Reply:It was an allergic reaction to the new product. If I were you I would temporarily refrain from using any products until the color of the skin is back to normal. Adding any type of chemical to an aggrevated skin will only hinder healing time, even if you were to switch back to your former deodorant.

Visual Basic + Skin Crafter?

I just installed Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition to get started programming in a new program environment.

I registered my software to get all the benefits, but I don't really understand the BENEFIT part of it. They just seem to give you links to other sites for you to figure out what te heck you should do.

I figure, at the very least, I should learn how to use the given Skin Crafter designs to customize my page.

I go to the website, download a couple of skins, and open the programming tutorial. To my dismay, it only gave you a script that you had to figure out what to do with it.

You can find the instructions here: http://skincrafter.com/vb_developers.htm...

I type this into the Form_Load section of my applications script and all I get are error messages.

I'm not sure how much you individually have to edit besides the files address, but I'm confused. It seems like I followed everything, but with no results.

For any of you who are familiar with VB- can u help me?

Will my dead finger skin grow back?

I chew on my the skin around my fingernails all the time, although i am trying very hard to quit. I know many tecniques to quit, but i am wondering, if i do manage to completely 100% stop, will the dead skin that is on my fingertips currently grow back into new living skin?
Will my dead finger skin grow back?
yes, the human body loses and grows skin at an astonoshing rate. Being the largest organ the body has and the first line of defense, this characteristic is key to a healthy body. Please stop chewing on your fingers though because they are by far the least sanitized area of your body behind your......well, behind.
Will my dead finger skin grow back?
No it will not. I shounds gross but try peeling it off or cutting it off it's dead skin. Dead skin cannot come back to live. Livings things can't come back to life its immpossible.

How long does your skin take to become normal?

i was using my freinds face wash and a few days later my face was peeling REALLY bad and then i tryed one on those boire nose peel things to make the peeling come off, which was stupiud cause it riped all the dry skin on my nose. So now i have a huge spot that is all new skin. How long will it take for the new skin to become normal and not be like lower and shiner and stuff. also if you have any home remedies or anything on how to make it better , or a good mosterisour that would help to.
How long does your skin take to become normal?
Ouch! Home remedy is vinegar. Just put a bit on a cloth and place over the area for a few minutes...twice a day. I wouldn't go with too much moisturizer unless it's alcohol and perfume free...might sting a bit.

As far as time - consider it like a bad sunburn that has peeled off...up to a week most likely before the skin tones catch up to each other.
How long does your skin take to become normal?
god that sounds reallt sore. try usinf nelsons healing cream as a moisturiser.
Reply:i did that biore thing to take the peeling off and had the same problem! it took about a week, or was it 3-4 days, to get back to normal. i used this moisturizer by neutragena called healthy defense, which has SPF in it, too. some makeup can help, but i tried a powder and it only made the spot more obvious.
Reply:First of all I'd like to know what face wash that was so I could spread it to my readers, Yes that's right i'm a journalist for a magazine which I will not say but you can look for my work, any way next time try something that actually tells you it's gentle. As for normality it will take a little under a month, What this sounds like is a really bad blister or sunburn. As for face was I can only tell you to look for something that says it's gentle. hope that helps.

Best foundation for fair skin?

I have porcelain skin with a tad bit of redness around my nos thats a bit flaky. I'm using a new skin product to help it, but I'm wondering for the time being, what is the best foundation for fairer and flaky skin?

Thanks tons.
Best foundation for fair skin?
I have the same problem - redness and pale skin - and I have tried a ton of foundations. The best one is Maybelline Pure Makeup (small teal bottle, about $4). It covers so well and blends in nicely so it doesn't look like you are wearing anything. It is also oil free :)

Kneel down to beg your help about my Skin Problem..please help!!!?

I have pretty white skin. I used Chemical Peel [home peel] to treat my scar as my friend recommended.

It has been a month since the peel.

%26gt;%26gt;But now my new skin appears dark. a spot that I peel becomes like half-tan and half sunburn, but not very bad, just invisibly darker. My skin's pores on the peeling area becomes so much big. It opens like the ice-pick scars.

Questions:

1. Any solution to dark skin because of peeling? Bleaching cream works? What is your recommendation?

2. How can I make my skin get rid of those opening big pores?

Big note: I cannot afford dermatologist. I can buy any products costing around 200 bucks

Thanks thanks and big thanks for every answer...will give you all the stars!
Kneel down to beg your help about my Skin Problem..please help!!!?
Hello!!!!!! This is your face!!!!!!!

Stop playing and keep trying any other product. I am not a doctor or dermatologist but I am very concern that when you keep trying a new way to peel or bleach or other way to get your skin look good so you should consult a dermatologist Slowly but surely you will be able to pay for treatements because you do have one face for as long as you will stay alive ( and I wish long beautiful life).

The first contact with pepole is your face and skin. Pepole do not shake your hands and look to your shoes they will look to you in the eyes!

Your dermatolgist will suggest you first a microdermabrasion and this procedure will minimize the appearence of the large pores. Then he or she will recommend you few treatements with uv light. Please follow the doctor recommendation will you be rich or poor you will have one face and a beautiful smile. Save your money don't spend on lot of outings and fasion : invest on your own person and it will pay you back I promise!!
Kneel down to beg your help about my Skin Problem..please help!!!?
! i think you shouldn't use any product on the peeled area now, or on the pores, its only going to get worse! i think its best to let it heal itself naturally, and it should get back to normal skin in time! when your new skin matures, the pores will also become smaller in size!!!
Reply:If you can afford products that cost $200 that might NOT work, then you can afford a professional, whether it is a dermatologist or an esthetician.
Reply:obviously something went wrong with the chemical peel and your skin got burned and opened the pores..

the open pores have to be treated separately but you can't do 2 skin regimen at the same time.. the dark mark has to be treated first as it is the more obvious and pesky one..

if the skin has healed and has a dark mark, you can lighten it with a good skin whitening cream to remove the dark patch.. it's what i use for my hyperpigmentation too.. and you don't have to spend a lot there. :-)
Reply:I take it after using the peel you didn't take precautions against the sun. Any time you do any traumatic thing like a peel to your skin you need to wear sunscreen. Wear sunscreen any time you go outdoors and no don't you dare put any whitening creams on it!!! You'll permanently damage the skin and darken it irreversibly. Don't scrub your skin or use any harsh cleansers either, be very gentle with it right now. Treat one thing at time, let the discolouration fade then you can address the large pores.
Reply:I agree, if you can afford $200. I'd see a dermatologist. In the meantime, take good care of yourself. use natural products, not chemicals as they are hard on the body and on your health. I was reading where movie stars and those who perform on stage in many countries use lemon, to keep the skin lighter as under the lights all stuff like spots show. it is amazing what natural in the kitchen stuff can do to help make up look better and also healthier. I do not know why anyone would do a peel when there are natural things in our homes that do the same thing w/o the cost. So, stop wasting money and get the help of your dermatologist or you might end up with worse problems.
Reply:Artistry has really great products that actually work. For the dark skin you would want to use their Bright Idea illuminating Essence; this will even out your skin tone, get rid of dark spots and brighten your skin. As far as the big pores you'd want to use their Pore Cleansing Masque. believe me I had huge pores on my nose and cheeks and this shrunk them like you wouldn't beleive. All of their products are completely guarenteed to work so if you try them and they don't work or you just don't like them for whatever reason they will give you a refund of all your money. Trust me you won't have to spend that much money either. You can't buy their products in stores but you can get them at http://www.adrennan.qhealthbeauty.com I hope this helped to answer your question :)

Can bad teeth cause skin problems? This is long...but I need help.?

About 5 years ago, the tops of my teeth started hurting at my gums. No decaying at that time. My dentist would always tell me I had perfect teeth. Then this pain and the dentist said the separation was occurring because I was getting older and the gums recede. So I just dealt with the pain for the longest time.

Well, at this time, I started getting this rash at my ankles seeming to be at each hair.

Went to dozens of doctors who had me try different things, to no avail. The rash has spread up my legs to above my knees and now on my forearms to above my elbows - lower extremities. The last skin specialist I went to told me I had some "unknown disease" and gave me a photocopy of scripts that he evidently dishes out when he doesn't know what he's dealing with. I went to my car and cried and never had those scripts filled, for obvious reasons. Anyway, my teeth started getting really bad, decaying at a high rate. My 'new' dentist told me it was caused by my ashma medication [puffer] and from drinking soda. I stopped the soda. The rash has not changed. It of course itches so bad and is painful. I wake up to myself scratching my legs so bad that they bleed. I've tried all kinds of meds, all kinds of doctors. I've tried the anti-itch meds, internal, external, anti-biotics, natural remedies like oatmeal baths, etc.

I've been having my teeth done slowly, due to work schedule, sick Dad and money, I'm not able to get them done as quickly as I want.

I just need to know if anyone has ever come across a bad teeth and skin problems relationship.

I have a friend that almost had brain surgery because every doctor blamed her massive headaches and infection in her blood due to something in her brain. Ended up she had a

major tooth infection that had spread to her body, but had never given her any pain to warrant it to be checked out.

Just need some help, if anyone can.

It's 90 degrees out and I'm wearing long pants and shirts. And....yes, I had a blood workup. Doc said everything showed up fine. No problems showing for anything.

Just trying to find out if the skin problem could be linked to the teeth problem.
Can bad teeth cause skin problems? This is long...but I need help.?
since you already have asthma, i would suggest you go in for in-depth allergy testing. it sounds to me more like you have severe allergy rashes than some of the other things you have mentioned. if your blood is clear of infection, then i doubt it is from your teeth. i would try the allergy testing- that doctory can tell you pretty quickly if it is NOT allergies. and if not, he should be able to point you in the right direction. best of luck to you--grmmynet
Can bad teeth cause skin problems? This is long...but I need help.?
Remember an infection usually is accommodated with a fever which I assume you do not have. So no virus is present from what I have gathered or bacteria but always brush your teeth thoroughly and don't chew tobacco, smoke anything, or drink acidic beverages or basic liquids. I don't think it is cancer because your doctor will catch that quickly and mouth cancer shows little symptoms, check your mouth for medium to large white postules along the linnings or your gums, black lumps are also a bad sign. Always take a daily supplement like Centrum or other vitamins, many mineral and vitamin deficincies affect the mouth areas. Feel the texture of the rash to determine what it could be, is it flaky or rough? You need to provide more details than a rash but from all of the information you have given me I have to conclude that you are allergic to something, it could be the aspirator you use for asthma or even your toothpaste, foods, the list goes on go to your doctor and request a "scratch test" which tests you for different allergies by nicking your blood with the chemicals to see if and how you react. Good Luck, if all else fails switch your deit to simple foods: breads, chicken, water, oats, and simple foods with little perservatives and very little ingredients for sometime to see if your condition improves.
Reply:I would definately go for an allergy test and get a 2nd dermatologists opinion. you said you have asthma right so I would think back to when the rash started, did your family/regular doctor change any of your medications? it could have even been so much as a week before you started showing symptoms from the new asthma meds and you might not even think to link the two together, i certainly didn't when I broke out in a rash all over my face and neck from an allergic reaction to an inhaler in fact that was the last thing I thought could be causing a rash we tried all kinds of creams from acne cream to antibiotic cream (all prescribed) it was about a month later when my doctor and I even realized it was the asthma meds doing it (I was about 15 so that's the typical acne age and we thought nothing of all these creams etc. in fact thats even what the rash looked like was acne so that also threw us for a loop) Anyways I would definately get a 2nd or even 30th opinion until someone can diagnose you correctly and not just prescribe you meds for something they even admit to you they have no idea...........as for the itching I will try and find you a website I use that may be able to give you some new things to try..........here are a few sites you should check over it looks like the one could help you dianose what kind of rash it is.....if all else fails head to the ER there may be someone there who could better dianose you I have done this a couple of times and it's almost better than your normal doc because often there is more than one doctor on call in the ER and sometimes if one of them doesn't know what it is the other one might....if you go just tell them the truth that the itching and pain is unbearable and you have tried everything in the past week, month, year etc. but nothing works

How do I post questions in Skin & Body that have nothing to do with tattoos?

The new "Skin %26amp; Body" section sucks! I don't know why, but in the last week Yahoo Answers has set it up so that when you want to ask a question about "Skin %26amp; Body," you're forced to select a category under that heading -- but the only option there is "Tattoos"!

I see that there is still a general "Skin %26amp; Body" section (http://answers.yahoo.com/dir/;_ylt=Agenr...

Dermatologist, i need help. skin infection under nose..?

It's happened to me a few times in my life.. around 4 or 5 times, so it's not very frequent. Happens only once every 4,5 years. It always happens after I have a runny nose for a day or longer.

So the area under my nose gets sensitive and starts getting little bumps.. and it spreads and more tiny bumps occur. When i pop it, only a clear liquid comes out. Today the situation got worse than before.. it spread a lot worse than the previous times. I had to pop them all.. they were all filled with clear liquid.

Now, my experience with this skin infection:

after I popped them, they stop spreading. So starts the recovery process. Pretty much all the skin there are dead and I have to wait a REALLY long time for a total new skin to grow back in place.

here's a picture: http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/1207/...

Now, this time it's a bit more serious.. is there anyway I can speed up the recovery process, or can anyone tell me what kind of infection this is called?

How do I change messenger's skin?

I've had messenger for a few months and I was able to change the skin. Then my computer crashed and I had to re-set it up with the original factory pre-sets and re-load my messenger. Getting the messenger back was no easy task but I did it. But since I've gotten it the 2nd time it's got this ugly gray color that I want to get rid of, and when I push the change skin option, nothing happens. I've tried changing skin from the messenger, and I've tried changing the appearance from the preferences. I've even tried downloading new skin from the messenger help page. Nothing has worked. Help!!!

Go for.Removal of items on your search bar

On the right side of the bar before you get to the web search button click on the bar (you may have to click it a few times) will open a drop down box that will bring you at the front of items you searched for.

Place your mouse pointer over the first item and you will see it highlight. Do not click the item just leave your mouse where it is and hit the delete button on your keyboard. The item will vanish and the next will take its place and become highlighted. Just keep hitting the delete button and watch them go away.

This will work for any browser.

.Are you using window blinds or alien guise or some other window enhancement program? E.g. programs that add extra buttons like transparency and keep always on top or change the look of the windows in anyway (not including standard XP themes)

if so disable it and yahoo should work..

Good Moisturiser for Combination Skin?

I am about to start a new skin care routine - using Cetaphil Cleanser %26amp; Benzac 2.5% and need a moisturiser that will be suitable for me. I have oily t-zone and very dry/dehydrated cheeks. I am pretty budget conscious at the moment as well. Thinking of Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish (I've just turned 30) but not really sure with moisturisers. Any sugguestions would be appreciated as I honestly have no idea on skin care!

Good Moisturiser for Combination Skin?
Alright hun, I use to work for Cosmoetology and I have learned that 'Jergens' skin smoothing formula is the best^.^ it is a great lotion for all skin types, and they have it writen on the bottle which one they are used for. And most of the time, they have samplers you can test. Before getting it. And they are VERY cheap aswell
Reply:You can consider using this brand Miho CE Cream. It has moisturizing and lightening of fleckers or pigmentation effect. Apply on the areas where you feel its dry/dehyrdrated. Highly recommended.

It can also be treated as a night cream. Check out the online store as product is not sold in any departmental store.

Acne on new, red skin?

i got under the surface acne on already damaged skin on my forehead. What should i do?
Acne on new, red skin?
Consult your local dermatologist to better asses the problem.

If you don't have one, make an appointment.

That seems like a case of inflammation with acne which really doesn't go well together. I'd get it looked at professionally as soon as possible.

MY beautiful new tan skin!!?

Is starting to dry out and peel in a couple areas..will cocoa butter moisturizer fix this or do i need to exfoiliate the dead skin away and accept a nasty red spot?
MY beautiful new tan skin!!?
Once the skin starts to peel, the skin that is peeling is dead. Moisturizers will help it to look better but they cannot bring it back to life. You have to wait it out. Scrub well in the shower, but do not use an additional exfoliator, that will damage the new skin underneath. Just get as much off as possible in each shower and keep it well moisturized throughout the day. It will naturally take care of itself. Good luck!
MY beautiful new tan skin!!?
exfoliate, and moisturize, the red spot will turn brown soon
Reply:ya exfoliate and moisturize very well!
Reply:You should try safflower oil. It works well and it's cheap.
Reply:If it is already peeling it is too late. You can keep it from getting too bad by using a good moisturizer but your still going to peel some. I know...... mine is peeling right now too. Next time try to moisturize as soon as you are out of the sun and keep using it until your skin is healed.
Reply:any lotion should help with that and if you continue to put lotion on the tan long after you stop peeling it'll last longer
Reply:You need to schedule a appointment with your doctor. it could get bad or serious, but keep an eye on it for the next 2-3 days and moisturize with a good moisturizer, and read the print with risks.
Reply:Cocoa butter should help. it is supposed to help against dry skin, and protect your body from the sun. good luck with it. or it might just be time to go out and get tanner.
Reply:you can't reverse the peeling but you can make it easier for you.. moisturize with your favorite lotion or cream during the peeling process.. that way, after the skin resurfaces, it will remain soft, not flaky and nicer to the eye..
Reply:OK, this sounds goofy but after you get out of the shower or bath (don't do this if you are in a rush...) rub some Safflower Oil all over. It does not absorb very fast but you skin should be soft and moist once it is all absorbed
Reply:you need to exfoliate...but be careful! it may hurt, but your skin will be all the better for it. when you exfoliate your skin it will slough off the dead skin and enable your skin to get more out of your moisturizer. i would recoment something with aloe vera, because it's cooling, soothing, and helps prolong your tan:) Hemp lotion is also awesome altho it smells a little weird. good luck!

HELP!!!!!!! new medication for skin?

i have had an outbreak of that under the skin, super sore acne around my jaw for the past few months and i have NEVER HAD ACNE before in my life. i finally broke down and went to a dermatologist who prescribed an antibiotic (bactrim ds) a face wash (benzoyl peroxide or something) and differin gel (.3%).

MY FACE IS RED AND DRY AND HURTS LIKE A SUNBURN!!!! does it do this before it starts to get better, or is the medication just too much to handle?? what should i do???
HELP!!!!!!! new medication for skin?
It is common for the benzoyl peroxide and the differn gel to make your skin very red and irritated. It may start to go away after your skin get used to it, or it may not. You can try laying down an putting a damp washcloth on your face to help. I had the same thing occur to me when I was younger. Also you may try just using less of the gel. If it gets really bad, call the dermatologist to see if you can use the gel as spot treatment or if they can give you something else. When you wash your face try to be more gentle with the skin (don't scrub really hard). For now if it really hurts consider taking some tylenol or ibuprofen to help with the pain.

Green eyes, light skin, want new hair color,im starting from brown, getting away from black any ideas?

I have dyed my hair black over and over for the past 5 years.I have finally managed to grow most of it out to my original color (medieum brown). Now some of the under side is still black.I wanna know of any ideas for a color for my brown hair that would still look nice with the black.I have brown eyes but my contacts make them green,I have fair skin with olive undertones.I don't think I want to go lighter on my hair,so does any one have any ideas for store bought color? If you cna tell me the brand and the name of a color that would be great also,if not it ok.I have always used nice and easy when dyeing my hair black. But it doesn't matter.
Green eyes, light skin, want new hair color,im starting from brown, getting away from black any ideas?
To enhance the green in your eyes and with light skin tone. definately go to the reds. Start by adding just some red hightlites in brown hair and add more as you are comfortable.

I think you will like it there are so many shades of reds. You do not have to look like a carrot top. An auburn or ginger would be great.

Garnier Nuturse has great red products that are natural

also u can try a deeper shade of red

gud luk
Reply:Go to a salon first.

Get a warm chestnut brown.

I have same eyes and same skin.. Looks hot on me.. and makes me look tan.
Reply:My wife is the same eye color and complexion. She did a brown with chestnut highlights. It was beautiful!
Reply:go brown
Reply:I have light skin and green eyes and I have had my hair black for a long time (with blood red highlights) and have also had my hair every color you can possibly think of. Although right now I am a blond, I think the that the best color for green eyes and pale skin is a red. I had my hair a fiery red and it looked awesome, the only stipulation is that red tends to fade quite quickly and eventually turns a blondish color. I kinda like it because I got several different hair shades for the price of one but many people want it to stay one color. However if you want to maintain darker hair, perhaps going a reddish brown or maybe just a chocolate brown so you can maintain the dark hair color but not have to worry about the hassles of stripping your hair or waiting for it to grow out like with the black coloring. It would also help cover up and blend in with the black that still exists with your hair...Like I said I had my hair black when I was younger and then it was actually (chocolate brown) when I had the deep red highlights so perhaps that is an option too if you want to try something a little different and keep it matching with the black. I used to go to a professional to get my hair dyed but if you do try an at home color dye, I would go for either Herbal Essences or Clairol. Good luck and remember even if you do dye your hair and you don't like the results, its only hair and can either be dyed over or grown out and its never permanent :)
Reply:I have similar skin and eye color. I love when my hair is a red - auburn color. Not the really bright red but more on the red-brown side.
Reply:I died mine so much I just about killed it so I cut it all off and started over all natural and I love it!!!!
Reply:I think maybe a strawberry blond or some type of light red.
Reply:Try "French Roast" by L'Oreal Feria. I love it and have been using it for several years. It's a darker rich colored brown with hints of auburn when you're in the sun, and it will blend well with the black you already have left.

Here's a link to see the box:

New Tattoo = Flaking Skin......?

I had a pretty big tattoo done on my lower back 3 days ago.

It has a little scabs al over it and is beginning to heal quite nicely. I have been putting moisturiser on 3 or 4 times a day to stop it from drying out, and now thin layers of skin have started peeling. I know that the scabbing is normal, but I just wondered if it should be flaking like this.....?

Im sure there is nothing wrong and it's pretty normal.. I just wanted to be sure.

Please don't answer if you don't know what you're talking about. [=
New Tattoo = Flaking Skin......?
Shedding flakey bits of skin is part a normal part of the healing proess, just don't be tempted to pick or scratch it.

I would advise against a soak in the bath until the area has completely healed as this can ruin the end result so it just isn't worth it. Showers should also be brisk.

What sort of cream are you using, because standard moisturiser with scent in is not ideal and you should also avoid Aloe Vera based products.

I always alternate with Tattoo Goo and Bepanthen - nappy rash ointment.
New Tattoo = Flaking Skin......?
Yea I got a tat and it hurt like hell! but yea mines did the same and I used the ointment and it got better! your better than me! I was scared to scub it in the shower lol your fine... just make sure you keep moisture
Reply:You're fine don't worry. Matter of fact your tat will soon probably look all dull. Normal too.
Reply:nothing out of the ordinary dont worry. you should wait about a week before taking a bath or going swimming
Reply:Peeling IS normal fairycake. It's kinda like a sunburn. The outer layer of skin has been shredded by the needles and is going to peel off. Because it is stained with ink it's going to look like you are losing ink. Relax..... the tattoo ink is embedded under the skin and isn't going anywhere. Keep using the ointment your artist recommended and don't listen to people who are telling you to use petroleum jelly (Vaseline), diaper rash medicine (A%26amp;D) or hemorrhoid cream (Preparation H).

Good luck

Rider (inked and peeled)
Reply:That is pretty normal. Don't worry too much. Just keep stuff line a%26amp;d ointment on it. I would give it about a week until you take a bath just to be on the safe side. You will be ok. Also, after a week, switch to an unscented lotion. Those are my suggestions.

You may want to read a bit about it on www.hufa.org, and then maybe do some more reading on your own, to see if it explains why you are having the changes you are noticing.
Reply:Boy, if you find out, let me know. I'm 54 and constantly itching. I have tried vitamins and lotions, nothing works.
Reply:Anyone can become allergic to anything at anytime, something a dermatologist told me many years ago. The issue is that from time to time, companies decide to rehas their product, describing it as new and improved, when they do this, they often alter the formulation so something you used with no problem for may years, will be a problem. I know because I still find I get new allergies and never seem to be free of patches of itchy skin. Try keeping products to a minimum, keeping to pure and ones labelled hypoallergenic, protect your skin where possible, wear gloves when gardening, washing up etc, or even when cleaning,I get a skin reaction if I use polish for example! Cool showers or baths, use a handfull of oatmeal in a stocking tied to the taps to allow the water to run through as the bath fill, moisturise well with low allery product and have antihistamine creams and tablets for when it becomes too bad
Reply:There's not much you can do. It's normal to develop allergies over time, and you can develop them gradually, or suddenly. It is actually more common to develop allergies to something you are constantly in contact with, than to something you've never come across.

I suggest you visit your dermotologist. S/he will be able to help you figure out what ingredient in the makeup that you are allergic to, so that you can steer away from that in other makeups.

If experimenting doesn't worry you, you can try other makeups. Try something lighter, like a powder foundation. There are also natural makeups and creams that nourish your skin, and won't have any preservatives that you may be allergic to.

One last piece of advice; you may not be allergic to the makeup itself at all. When you've been using makeup for awhile, skin cells are transferred from your face to your makeup. It's natural, and you can't stop it. Every time you touch the brush or your finger to your face, and then back in the makeup, you get skin cells in it. In the same way, you also get bits if dirt, anything else on your skin, in the makeup as well. After several months, this buildup in your makeup can ... :shudder:... grow. You can get infections like this, and it's especially a common cause of a sty in or around your eyes. Because of this, dermotologists recommend that you throw out makeup that is older than 6 mos and replace it.

Teen in Skin Trouble? (Im starting a new school HELP!)?

I am A white Australian Its not Acne I get Breakouts But there has never been a day where i never have 3 or 4 pimples they are little bumps its not often they are white or black heads i have 2 weeks before i go. I dont really use any products at the moment i have tried pro activ and a few clearasil ones but i wouldnt really stay on them over a week or 2. Yes i touch my face a fair bit. And my brother has fairly bad skin and so did my dad my mum was fine though.

Thankyou
Teen in Skin Trouble? (Im starting a new school HELP!)?
Primary suggestion, don't shift the facial regiment too often. I did that once or twice, and it caused the breakouts to get worse.

Buy one and stick to it. Pro-active is an excellent solution, but it requires maintenance. Changing shouldn't be an option unless it doesn't work after maybe a month. 2 weeks is barely enough time to see the effects of such treatments.

Also, avoid popping and touching your face. I know it's hard to resist, but it's what causes a majority of the added oil build ups (beyond what the skin makes naturally). Another suggestion is invest in little oil absorption sheets, that way you can have them on hand when you notice your skin start to look unnaturally shiny during the day. Good skin is hard to achieve, but I hope my suggestions help. I know they have worked for me.
Teen in Skin Trouble? (Im starting a new school HELP!)?
If you want to clear your skin up, you have to stay on a skin care regimine longer than 2 weeks....or else you're not going to see results with anything.

ProActive is supposedly pretty good...it broke me out horribly. I use all Dove and Burt's Bees products now...they much milder on my skin.
Reply:try obagi... the chemical blue peel is amazing
Reply:Try the following:

Drink plenty of water - water helps clear the skin and gives you a healthy glow.

Try the "Pure" range from Garnier. I've been using it for the past few weeks and I'm very impressed with the results.

Exercise! - believe it or not, sweating actually helps to extract dirt from your pores! Just make sure you wash when you're done ;)

Eat food rich in vitamin E such as vegetable oils, nuts, green leafy vegetables, and fortified cereals.

Good luck!

PS - When in doubt, concealer can be your best friend ;)
Reply:Dalctin C. Get rids of them in about and hour. completely get rids.
Reply:Angellove has the best answer. Stick with a product. Two weeks is definitely not long enough. Clean %26amp; Clear is a good product and it is reasonably priced. It also has salicylic acid in it and that gets rid of the pimples and it also keeps them away too. Also, with any product when you first start using it you may experience a mild breakout, but be patient and your face will clear up. Never stop using the product before it has time to work.

Bruises on skin, everyday there is a new one?

I have a friend who is getting black and blue bruises on her skin, it began with one or two, and now she has quite a few, she made an appt. with her Doctor, she is not on comedem, nor is she taking any aspirin, has anyone experience this before?
Bruises on skin, everyday there is a new one?
your friend is having what so called spontaneous ecchymosis which is a bleeding problems can range from mild to severe.

She may be having a defects in the coagulation system which occur as a result of deficiencies in clotting factors, missing clotting factors, or changes in platelet function. These disorders can be inherited, may be due to an underlying disease, or may be side effects of drugs or medication.

the following deferential diagnosis needed to be addressed

Deficiencies in factor II, V, VII, XII

Vitamin K Deficiency

Hemophilia A and B and Von Willebrand's Disease

ITP

TTP

Congenital Antithrombin III; protein c and protein s deficiency

Disseminated intravascular coagulopathy

Although you mentioned that she is not taking aspirin, or coumodine however other medications may lead to the symptoms which includes but not limited to

Drugs -- cephalosporins, penicillins, dipyridamole, alcohol, sulfonamides, Rifampin, methyldopa, Phenytoin, warfarin, heparin, urokinase, TPA, NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin), diuretics, allopurinol, etc.
Bruises on skin, everyday there is a new one?
Not to scare you but it sounds like a friend of mine, she had leaukemia, have her get to the doctor pronto..

I think people who bruise easily could have a problem with their blood, something to do with platelets or white blood cells or capillaries.
Reply:Uneplained bruising, broken capilliaries on the skin's surface, easy susceptibility to flu's and colds and bloodshot eyes are all symptoms of vitamin deficiency.

Eat more foods rich in this vitamin ie: leafy green vegies, citrus fruits such as lemons, limes and oranges, tomatoes and potatoes, red and green peppers.

vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin and as such our bodies our bodies can neither produce or store it therefore we need to ingest it on a daily basis or suffer the consequences as your friend unfortunately is.

Things that may be robbing you of your precious vitamin C supplies are alcohol, cough syrups, antibiotics, antihistamines, aspirin, the oral contraceptive, prednisone, tobacco and antidepressants.............. :0)

Eggzima a skin condition like athletes foot on hand I'm new explain plz or give a site Ty?
Eczema is different than athlete's foot, which is a fungus. Don't pop the pimples. Try some cortisone cream on them and that should make them stop itching. You can even wash your skin with something like Neutrogena T-Gel or Selsun Blue and pat dry.

Try Webmd.com. They have tons of info. Good luck.

Has anyone ever used New Skin liquid bandage to get rid of skin tags?

I am aware that a preferable option would be to go to a dermatologist to have them cut out or burned off - but that's considered a cosmetic procedure by my insurance so I'd have to pay out of pocket, and that ain't gonna happen. I have been reading up on the home-remedy methods of skin tag removal and this one sounds the most up my alley (if you tie a string around one tight until it falls off, doesn't that, like, HURT a lot? or pinch constantly??) - so if you've ever done this or know anyone who has, tell me your personal experiences!
Has anyone ever used New Skin liquid bandage to get rid of skin tags?
I've only ever used New Skin to cover open wounds like a Band Aid. It provides a waterproof protective barrier to keep germs and dirt out. Maybe you're thinking of a wart remover like Compound W?
Has anyone ever used New Skin liquid bandage to get rid of skin tags?
I got rid of the skin tags under my arm using a product that also got rid of a few moles that I was also worried. It softens the tough cell walls of unhealthy skin so your body's immune system can destroy the unhealthy cells. You only have to apply it 3 times in 24 hours. It did hurt a little for a bout an hour. Not bad though. It turned a dark color and fell off in about 5 days. I ordered it from LifeLineLLC@yahoo.com It was a little expensive... about $90... but like I said I also got rid of several moles I was worried about too... so it was worth it.

I have sensitive skin (don't know your type) and Dr. Jeffery Dover's Flawless Effects was recommended by a skin type book I read. It's sold at the drugstore...and it worked, results showed immediately! Other brands (even the expensive stuff) didn't seem to show results for me.

Dry skin around my new nose piercing?!?

I had my nose pierced last weekend and ive been cleaning it using anti bacterial soap (non fragranced) and looking after it as asked. Theres been no bleeding or crustyness since bout the day after so its healing really well.

The problem is the skin on the outside of my nostil, its started to get really dry and i fear it might get flaky. What can i do bout it?
Dry skin around my new nose piercing?!?
dont use what you are using.

mix 1 cup of warm water with 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt and take a cotton ball and wet it with the solution stick it in your nostril for 10 minutes then take another cotton ball and soak it with the solution...and clean the outside...then take a q-tip and clean around the stud...

this is what the person told me to do and mines fine

you can get the sea salt from wal-mart
Dry skin around my new nose piercing?!?
Just use a light cream that gives some of the fat (for lack of a better word) back to the skin.
Reply:Put a little daub of lotion on your finger and rub it around where your piercing is. You're nose is getting dried out from the antibacterial soap.
Reply:put alot vesiline on it over night wash it off in the morning
Reply:I got mine pierced about three weeks ago now and mine is the same way, if your using a sea salt wash like they recommend, I suspect its from that. I am just lightly applying a very thin amount of lotion with a q-tip, but make sure you dont get it on or in the piercing!
Reply:Instead of using antibacterial soap, which is extremely drying, use warm salt water.

That's the only thing I ever cleaned mine with, and 4 years later I still haven't had a problem with it.

Wamr Skin Tone, So Avril Lavigne New Hair Color good for me?

I look just like my avatar , BUT i have hazel eyes, i'm latino/portuguese so i have kinda medium skin tone and golden brown hair %26amp; its wavy and course hope that kinda helped! :] please give good answer and give some links is you can!
Wamr Skin Tone, So Avril Lavigne New Hair Color good for me?
To get your hair color Avril's would take serious bleaching. If you want hard to comb, horrible hair then do it. I think you'd look really artificial as a blond if you have a darker skin tone. Don't do it, you will regret it. And the roots will be HORRIBLE and far from natural-looking. You'll look like a skank. I'm not trying to be a b*tch, just looking out for you.
Wamr Skin Tone, So Avril Lavigne New Hair Color good for me?
wait, What?
Reply:i'm portuguese too!! i have dark brown hair. isn't avril lavignes new hair color blonde. sure it might look good. if you really want to try it then go for it.
Reply:if her newest hair is the bleach blonde than i think it is, be careful, because it could turn your hair orange. you should probably go just a little darker than your skincolor. also, if you go to dark, you may look washed out. i hope i helped :D

I'm looking for a new skin care regimen, what should I use?

I have light skin that tends to be a little on the oily side. Right now I use the C.O. Bigelow face cleanser for oily skin from Bath and Body Works but that's it. I think my face feels a little too dry after though.

I was at a Mary Kay facial party this past weekend and they said you should always use a regimen set from the same company because it will all be formulated to work together.

So, what should I get? I want perfect skin. :) Thanks for reading!
I'm looking for a new skin care regimen, what should I use?
I love Mary Kay. I started using it a year ago and haven't stopped. I have combination to oily skin and use the whole skin care line. Its great and not very expensive. One tube lasts for about 3months. Contact your consultant where you went to the facial party and she can help you tons. Best of luck, and hope you love Mary Kay as much as I do.

I go by that rule too, and use Estee Lauder. Don't mix products!

Reply:Try Exfoliate Me daily cleansing gel if you have oily skin followed by Nighty Hydrate which is not greasy and keeps your skin from being dried out...The Glycolic acid in the Exfoliate me will get rid of bad oily skin and Nightly Hydrate will make your skin look amazing. You can buy both products on yahooshopping or Amazon or Shopzilla.com both are made by MangoMadnessSkincare
Reply:Arbonne is a great skin care line!!
Reply:You should try Biore's pore unclogging scrub to wash your skin and if you break out try their astringent. For a moisturizer try Oil of Olay anti wrinkle with SPF 15, i know you don't have wrinkles but my sister uses it and it moisturizes without making her skin oily. At night try their night cream I love it cause it's light weight and it leaves my skin feeling moisturized without having that greasy feeling.
Reply:Perfect skin is a myth! We all struggle with skin problems trust me! But, I do have a suggestion. There's a pretty awesome live radio show that gives really good advice on skin care and effective as well as reasonably priced products on the market. I really hope this helps!

I loaded a new skin for my messenger how do i use it?
Hey what you need to do is save the skin to the default skins folder. Thats the only way it would be displayed for you. The path for my skins folder is:

C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Shared\Graphics

Where C: is the drive letter. You should try to locate your skins folder and then save the skin to that location. I included the path to mine. Try and copy it and paste it to your address bar in an open explorer Window. Alternatively:

1. Select your hard disk (double click to open)

2. Click on program files folder

3. Click on yahoo folder (it should be near the bottom)

4. Click on shared folder

5. Click on graphics.

6. Save the additional skins to this location.

7. Close yahoo messenger and open it again and try to load the new skin.

What is the best way to get really bright looking skin? Also, I need a new way to do my make up.....?

....naturally I have dark blonde hair (but want to dye it light blonde) with black eyebrows and pale/pinkish skin (but want to use fake tan). I have a few red spots and slight dark circles under the eyes. My skin is the kind of skin that looks very clogged if I put foundation/powder on and I can never seem to find a matching conceler! I would ideally like it to look like I have no make up on- so that's why I was thinking about fake tan! Also, I'm looking for the perfect blusher- what would work best with my skin tone? What skin tone do I have??!!
What is the best way to get really bright looking skin? Also, I need a new way to do my make up.....?
um... you might want to consider facials, they help with clogged skin, i used to have some skin problems but after doing facials on a regular basis my skin is smooth and awesome hehehe

and now putting makeupon, it dnes't look like i have clogged skinhehe

um... as for blusher... i have tan skin, i use mac's blush, it's called deep plum, perfect shade of blush =)

or try bare mineral's blush, get the soft medium shade and it looks natural and awesome ehehe

hope this helps

ps. i think you have dry skin, since makeup looks clogged, drink plenty of water
What is the best way to get really bright looking skin? Also, I need a new way to do my make up.....?
Since there is no picture to go from, I would suggest you visit a estheican first for your clogged pores (they will make recoomendations even if you dont use there services, next go to a colorist for your hair (do it yourself or get it done fianlly go to a make up counter and explain the look you want.

hope this helps
Reply:the best way to get bighter looking skin is using a highlighter.

Touche Eclat by Yves Saint Lauren works WONDERS and although it's very pricey i think it's worth it.

it's also worth the time searching for your perfect foundation as this makes the world of difference to the look of your make up. I would suggest maybelline dream matt mousse as they have quite a wide range of skin tones and it's also quite light and covers well.

bourjoir do fantastic blushers which last for AGES so also quite expensive, are DEFINATELY worth it.

if you're going to use fake tan on your face you have to be very careful not to make it patchy which can happen easily. I would scrub and cleanse your face before applying fake tan.

hope that helped?

New pony has a skin condition?

I just started training a pony who was neglected for a few years. The skin on his face, especially on his cheeks, is really...strange. The skin looks and feels like it is covered in folds of scar tissue as well as scabs. It is also apparently very itchy. There is some lesser patches on his chest and legs. I've been washing the patches in iodine for a fews days, which seems to help a bit. Do you know what this condition is, and how to treat it?
New pony has a skin condition?
It is very possible, from what you have described, that this horse has Scabies. Sarcoptic mange (or scabies) is an important skin disease which can affect a variety of species including humans, dogs, goats, horses and ponies, pigs, rabbits, sheep, and less commonly cats (rare).

Clinical signs do not occur for 3-6 weeks after infection with the mite. The primary signs of sarcoptic mange are similar for all species as follows :

* Intense pruritus (itchiness) with self-trauma - scratching, biting

* Hairloss

* Papules

* Crusts

* Grazes on the surface of the skin

* Secondary bacterial infection

* Thickening of the skin (in chronic cases)

* Location of skin lesions is widespread - including

o Cattle - the neck and sacral region

o Dogs - the abdomen, chest, ears and legs - especially the elbows and hocks.

o Horses and ponies - the head and neck

o Pigs - the back

o Rabbits - the face and ears

o Sheep and goats - the face and ears

* Weight loss

* Enlarged lymph nodes

* General debilitation

* Humans

o Papules - especially on the arms or midriff (trunk)

o Itchiness

Diagnosis is made by examination of deep skin scrapings and identifying mites, eggs or mite feces. Numerous samples are required to be sure to obtain a positive sample and false negative findings are frequently reported because of the "hit-or-miss" nature of sampling. Sometimes mites or their eggs may be found in fecal samples as well.

Several treatments are available for the treatment of Sarcoptic mange including

* The following acaricides which kill the mites:

o Amitraz

o Benzyl benzoate

o Bromocyclen

o Fipronil

o Ivermectin

o Milbemycin

o Monosulfiram

o Phosmet

o Rotenone

Some of these do not have product licenses for use in all species, and some can be toxic, so you need Veterinary advise.

The environment should also be treated in case mites have dropped off into bedding or floor coverings.

* The itchy pruritus can be controlled using anti-inflammatory drugs eg corticosteroids.

* Antibiotics may be needed if secondary bacterial infection is present

* Antiseborrhoeic shampoos are also helpful to cleanse the skin

All animals in a household, stables or farm should be treated.

In short, you really do need a vet to look at this horse. You should isolate the horse so that the possibility of transferring the disease is minimised...
New pony has a skin condition?
RAINROT probably. If your weather is warm enough, you might try clipping him so that you can get down to the scabby spots, the wash with chlorhexidine (Nolvasan is the brand name). If you can't find that, you can also make a solution with Captan powder that is sold for roses and wash him down in that. It will kill the fungus. Good luck with him!

**************************************...

This is from Virgina Tech at http://www.showhorsepromotions.com/rainr...

Rain rot, also known as rain scald (on the lower limbs, it may be referred to as dew poisoning), is caused by a bacteria that has fungal characteristics. This bacteria lives in soil and is commonly observed during prolonged wetness. Infected animals are often considered a source of infections for spread of this contagious disease.

Poor stable hygiene and skin irritation from insect bites often are contributing factors. Infected horses generally will have a series of small bumps along their backs. These lesions will progress to circular scabs. Removal of the matted tufts of hair is painful and can result in raw, bleeding areas. Veterinarians often refer to the small tufts as "paintbrush lesions." Lesions are commonly observed on the back, rump, neck and legs.

Affected animals should be kept dry and protected from biting insects.

The scabs should be removed while bathing the horse daily for seven days with either iodine shampoo, chlorohexidine shampoo or benzoyl peroxide. Severe cases may require treatment with antibiotics for a week or two. Warm sun and dry weather are nature's best cure for rain rot. Skin problems should be addressed early in the disease before the itching, hair loss and subsequent inflammation become severe enough to result in oozing, crusting and scaling of the skin.

Diagnosis of any skin disease generally requires more investigation than just a simple glance.
