New cleanser to prevent oily and dry skin? My skin seems dry after getting out of the shower.?

I'm using Neutrogena's Rapid Clear Oil Control foaming cleanser, alcohol-free toner, and Rapid Clear Acne Defense face lotion every morning and night. My skin seems dry after getting out of the shower, and I'm afraid that is causing me to get more blackheads on my face than usual. It's strange because I seem to be getting less blackheads on my nose (the place where I get them most) and more near my chin where I usually don't have too much of a problem. Anyway, I feel like it is the cleanser causing this dryness/blackhead problem and I'm hoping someone can tell me about a better Neutrogena cleanser or perhaps a more natural facial cleanser that I can get at the store.

I sell AVON and we have a few different skin care regimens that can relieve the dry skin problems you are experiencing.

I actually use their Pore-fection line (gel cleanser, toner) and then apply the 24 hr moisture lotion and haven't had a dry skin problem since.

All the lines are pretty reasonable in price also.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I use the St. Ives Apricot Scrub (for oily, blemish prone skin). It is the kindwith the little beads in it. I wash my face in the shower with very hot water, and that dries it out a lot. I do a sugar crub once a week to get rid of the dry skin. It works great!

Find some lotion or moisturizer you trust to use on your face and add a teaspoon or two of sugar with about a tablespoon of the moisturizer. Scrub your face with it thoroughly and rinse well. The moisturizer moisturizes, and the sugar gets rid of the dry skin. I recommend doing this before you shampoo, and always in the shower, so you can wash any sugar out of your hairline.

Also, at ngiht, use an overnight acne cream and wash it off in the morning. There are plenty of generic and brand-name acne medicines out there, but they usually work out about the same. Just make sure they have benzoyl peroxide in them. A good Astringent, apllied to nose and chin, should help with blackheads. The acne medicine will probably dry out your skin, but the sugar scrub should counteract it.

Try the facewash. As an added bonus, it smells great.

Good luck! If you do use the acne medicine, skip a night every few weeks. Somtimes, my skin will start to break out again after a few weeks of using it, and I just have to let my fave have a short break. When I start using it again, it helps again.

DO NOT get face wash or moisturizer that is not made for acne prone skin. It may not hurt your skin, but it probably will and it definitely won't help it. And always buy the face wash for your skin type, like 'blemish prone', 'dry skin', or 'oily skin'. 'Normal skin' face washes may mess up skin that is oily or dry.
Reply:Well coming out of the shower obviously makes your skin dry because the natural oil found on our skin is washed away too. Your products say that they make your skin less oily and for acne it has to be drying as it is caused by too much sebum. If you believe that it is the cleanser try using a different cleanser. Try to get some samples to try out before buying. I use Neoderma products, and matis products for my clients, depending on their skin type. They also find germain de cappucini effective. Well its not a matter of name it is a matter of does it work for you or not?! There is no way to find out unless you try them. Make sure that you use a good moisturizer as you didn't mention one. After your skin has been stripped from its exsessive oil it still needs to be moisturized. For myself I use Latte de la rose products which have a very soothing effect but I don't know if they are available where you live and if they are good for you. Hope it helps.
Reply:I am very partial to Olay shower products.
Reply:may be the steam from the warter is making your skin drie
Reply:Firstly using substances derived from vitamin A like retin-a or tazarotene, to reduce inflammation of the skin and to unplug pores. Retin-A can cause skin reddening at first but this is quite normal as the skin's blood supply is improved and younger looking skin begins to appear presenting a youthful complexion. Using a product that includes zinc will also help the vitamin a function better.

Reply:There is a book I read that helps with pimples and different types of skin care. Take a look at the website and decide if it is best for you. The book helped me get rid of years of blemishes.
