Why is the new layer of my skin red, irritated, there are tiny bumps and its itchy?

my face was sunburnt a while ago and my cheeks turned bright red for a few days, than it started to peel.,,, it looked like my face was healed .. but a few days later the redness will come back at the exact same spots.. and a few days later it would peel again...this happened a few times now.. and each time i made the mistake of peeling off the skin when it wasnt ready to be peeled off..this time i waited for it to peel on its on..now all the dead skin has peeled away but the new skin is still slightly red.. there are red tiny bumps in some areas so it feels irritated and itchy? it still feels like my face is hot at times.. i thought this was suppose to stop after the peeling? what is wrong and what can i do to make it better? will this go away.. and how long does it take for new skin to heal?

its called a very damaging 1st or 2nd degree burn. Congrats. get some aloe cream and use more sunblock next time. from onset of the burn expect it to be felt for up to 3 weeks for a very bad burn. be carefull, next time you may get sun poisioning. this sucks. I was hospitalized for 3 days because of an "incedent" of not using much sunscreen. USE IT AND LIKE IT OR GET CANCER.

Do u tan easily? It may be irratated at something you are using on your skin. are you using any new products?
Reply:You've had an allergic reaction. (well most likely anyway) My wife gets one anytime she stays out in the sun too long. You need to go to a dermatologist. If you can't or won't go. You should take an a non-drowsy allergy medicine such a claritine until it goes away. You also need to get a very mild soap, the pharmacist will be able to recommend one and possible a cream for the bumbs. Hope you feel better.
