Why is the new layer of my skin red, irritated, there are tiny bumps and its itchy?

my face was sunburnt and my cheeks were bright red for a few days, than it started to peel. now all the dead skin has peeled away but the new skin is still slightly red.. there are red tiny bumps in some areas so it feels irritated and itchy? it still feels like my face is hot.. i thought this was suppose to stop after the peeling? what is wrong and what can i do to make it better?

Oooo... I wouldn't do microderm if your skin is peeling and irritated. Wait until it is fully healed. This will remove the sun damaged skin.

Use a soothing cleanser and moisturizer. Keep your skin moisturized well. Avoid anything that has alcohol or fragrance. Try aloe and/or vitamin e.

If it was a particularly nasty burn, you may want to see a doctor.

Mary Kay makes a great product -- Oil Free Hydrating Gel. I used it on my sunburn and it worked great.

You really want to make sure you're using a sunscreen on your face. Nothing ages faster than the sun!

then it's infected and you need to do microderm-abrasion treatment
Reply:either Noxema or cucumber will take the sting out -

keep hydrating, that helps skin as much as it helps the rest of the body -

I'd literally peel a cuke and put it in ice cold water and lay back and make your face a cuke salad!!!! Keep just enough room to get a straw in your mouth so you can keep taking in liquids!!!
