my face was sunburnt a while ago and my cheeks turned bright red for a few days, than it started to peel.,,, it looked like my face was healed .. but a few days later the redness will come back at the exact same spots.. and a few days later it would peel again...this happened a few times now.. and each time i made the mistake of peeling off the skin when it wasnt ready to be peeled off..this time i waited for it to peel on its on..now all the dead skin has peeled away but the new skin is still slightly red.. there are red tiny bumps in some areas so it feels irritated and itchy? it still feels like my face is hot at times.. i thought this was suppose to stop after the peeling? what is wrong and what can i do to make it better? will this go away.. and how long does it take for new skin to heal?
Why is the new layer of my skin red, irritated, there are tiny bumps and its itchy?
Sounds like you burnt it really bad.
Try using an over-the-counter cortizone cream (from the pharmacist - no prescription needed). If it doesn't start showing signs of improvement after the first 24hrs, see a doctor for a stronger prescription cream.

Sounds like an allergic reaction to something. See your doctor.
Reply:This isn't normal for a sunburn. What have you been putting on it. I suspect it's an allergic reaction to something your applying to it. Please call a doctor before you do too much damage to your skin.
Reply:First, you should never peel away your sunburnt skin. Let it do it on its own. Second, you should prbably go see a doctor about it. I have never heard of something like that happening and I lived in Florida for 3 years and got sunburnt plenty of times, nothing like that ever happened to me. So I really suggest seeing a doctor, they can help you.
Reply:The best advice of course is for you to let a doctor check it.
In lieu of that, go get yourself some Calamine Lotion:
