i have pale skin...
i used to hate it...
used self tanning lotion, packed on a bunx of makeup for a few years...
but now...
for some reason i think it's being more accepted as pretty in the United States...
i want to keep my pale skin now but make it acne free and like porcelian lol...
so...is anyone else going through this or has any idea if pale skin is starting to be the new tan?
thnx
xao:DxD
Is pale skin the new in?
Porcelain skin has been in for a while now. If you read fashion or beauty magazines they constantly stress the importance of sunscreen and a lot of the caucasion models are ivory white. So yes, it is certainly better than fake tan.
Is pale skin the new in?
It would be great if pale skin was "in" I am pale and do not like sitting in the sun to get tan. And those products are not for me, they clog your pores.
You're beautiful, tan or not; who cares what the fashion is.
Reply:I hope so. I've never had a tan in my life, straight to burn and peel. Nice to be the one envied instead of envious for a change lol.
Reply:let's hope so.
the dha in self-tanner smells nasty and tanning (natural or fake) is a terrible for you.
no fashion trend is worth leathery skin and wrinkles.
team pale!
Reply:If you live in Southern California there is no such thing as New England pale skin. People will rob you thinking you're a tourist.
Reply:The reason things become the new "in" is because of those individuals who are unafraid to actually BE individual.
Hint, hint, not follow the crowd. I find personally, I am more attracted to people, and also to ladies, who are not afraid to be themselves, to be unique, to cast aside the shackles of uniformity %26amp; stagnation.
Start a fresh breath of change, be you, don't worry what others think. People have always resisted change, until it becomes mainstream. Who knows, you just might help kick the trend in high gear.
Reply:i think it have noticed that too like the Reese Witherspoon look but i still think a tan is not a bad thing...i use self tanners sometimes too...
Reply:Why, yes, I think it is. When I was watching Grey's Anatomy last night I noticed how white Katherine Heigl looks. But she's so very pretty. I think Hollywood is getting tired of the fake-bake look. And with all this harmful ultraviolet light talk going on, wearing big sun hats and protecting your skin just might be the new, cool thing.
Reply:Well, my skin is olive toned, naturally, and a lot of people make nice comments about it wherever I go. I think, they find it rather exotic, which is true, 'cos I am a foreigner to the US, anyway. However, it's not like I could or will even attempt to change what God gifted to me, 'cos God is THE Best Artist out there.
If you have pale skin, embrace its colour. Don't hate what you have, just be grateful that you aren't scarred or burned like some unfortunate people who are only now in the threshold of their lives.
Reply:Pale skin should be in if it's not. Those self tanning products always used to make me streaky and orange. Also tanning beds and tanning causes a high risk of skin cancer. I think people are just becoming more aware of being natural. LOL either that or people are just stuck inside on the computer and get no sun.
Reply:Im pale...i like tans..
must start tanning again
pale is beautiful
tan is hot
Reply:People are always trying to get what they don't have, no matter what. In the west we have tanning lotion and salons etc, but in Indonesia and Japan etc they have creams and lotions to make the skin paler and creamier.
Reply:as long as you look healthy it doesnt matter what your skin colour is, but I know for a fact that there are a million girls in the middle east who envy girls with pale skin because its meant to be more beautiful than tanned skin
Reply:Yea! In the winter, people can't go tanning in the sun, which is the most common way. In fact, I personally think that it's really pretty to have Snow-White skin! That is very rare in the united states! Don't ever use tanning lotion, it can actually cause cancer. you go girl!!!
Reply:Oh wow yes i Have naturaly pale skin even when I think I have a nice tan going on I am lighter than everyone else. I am 22 now and for the past 4-5 years I have grown to love my porclein/casper skin. I always tell people that since I am the only person I know who does not go to the tanning bed that I will be the only old lady without skin cancer hahaha. I think being in your natuarl skin, not trying to cover it up and be fake is sexier than those orange bitches anyway. Skip the makeup too its better off for your skin
Reply:yes cause i have pale skin and everybody in my family tans and has a pretty color but as time went by i seen really nothings wrong with it
Reply:not sure, but pale skin sucks. I hate it!! cant wait for summer to come
Reply:pale skin actually can be really pretty...not on all people usually just blondes. if you wanna have good clear skin..just use proactiv it workssssssssssss
Reply:pale skin the new in?? wht the hell i dont think ur skin color should be in or out!
ur skin color shouldnt be a fashion or style statement!
first of all ur skin color shouldn't me mention in any fashion statement!!!
u cant take ur skin off like clothes or anything else tht u wear!
Reply:I think that light skin tones a pretty not snow-white pale it looks dead. Stick with light tanning like 7 minutes in a tanning bed each day. You look healthy but not tan or fake!
Reply:It sure is! And there will be a lot less people walking around with premature wrinkles too!!
Reply:I think that part of it is that we(well, some of us, anyway...) are finally realizing that it is rediculous to sacrifice your skin's health (and perhaps your life) just to be tan from the sun or from a bed.
I have really pale skin; I know plenty of people of ALL ages who are their natural, pale selves and who are proud of it and who are considered very beautiful and classy by those around them. I used to hate it, but like you said, I started finding products to make my face clear and working out to make myself more healthy/confident about showing skin. There will always be varying differences among our society about what is beautiful or "in..." and it depends on the location, etc. I guess don't worry so much about being "in," just take care of your skin and yourself and be mature enough to place less importance on what everyone else thinks and just do what works for your body/face/skin type! :)
